How We Compare Bitcoin Providers and Fees

A useful comparison makes its evidence and limits visible. We compare the outcome for the same budget and keep unknown costs unknown.

The evidence hierarchy

We distinguish public documentation, an observed account quote, a hypothetical model and a completed transaction. A published fee schedule is useful evidence about a stated charge. It does not prove the final debit or BTC credit for a specific account.

No completed test purchases or signed-in order previews were collected for the initial redesigned comparison. We do not describe public-document research as hands-on testing.

Compare like with like

Record provider, legal entity or market, country or state, product/interface, account tier, payment method, budget, reference price source and time. Keep each country’s routes separate, including the existing US and UK examples. Do not treat a currency choice as country eligibility.

Funding, buying, withdrawals and eventual selling are distinct stages. If the question is purchase-only, compare purchase-only. If it includes self-custody, use an equivalent transfer outcome for each route.

The total-cost calculation

For an observed order: total cash debit T; BTC credited Q; same-time independent reference price P. Indicative acquisition cost = T − Q × P. Percentage = (T − Q × P) ÷ T × 100. This is a difference from a benchmark, not necessarily a separately billed charge.

The quoted BTC amount already reflects quote pricing, so do not subtract a spread again. For a separate withdrawal, record the BTC debit and any additional cash charge. A network component included in the provider debit is counted once.

Models and missing data

When using assumed fees, label every assumption. Our estimator bases the percentage fee on the total budget, deducts it and the fixed charge first, and divides the remaining cash by reference price × (1 + markup). Actual provider calculations can differ.

Include subscription costs where a rate depends on them. Do not rank complete total cost if a material quote component is unknown. Missing, unavailable and zero are different results.

Commercial relationships and updates

Disclosure appears before any future commercial link. Payment is not evidence of lower cost. We may include providers that do not pay a commission if they fit the comparison scope. No reviewed promotional placement is currently active in the redesigned guides.

Review changing provider evidence before relying on it and report errors to info@canyoubuyhalfabitcoin.com. Review dates describe actual work; they are not automatically refreshed. Stable unit explanations and changing financial terms need different review cadences.
